I write from my emotions...when I see something that moves me, I usually can get some words together and discuss my views on the subject..
I have a wife and two kids....I was reading the story of the Connecticut Murders...a mother and her 2 girls age 17 and 11 were raped, tortured and burned to death as their father was crawling outside in the drive way half dead from being beat with a baseball bat by 2 career white criminal felons.
The 3 Ladies were shopping at some local shops...Probably doing and talking like women do while shopping.."get those for daddy he loves them"..." we should go there"..."girls stop arguing and get in the car"
The Mother and kids were driving home to their quiet street unknowingly being followed by two men with crime on their minds. Both men have been locked up for burglary type of charges freed on parole...What was going to happen next is horrible..Were these guys drunk...high on drugs...why did they pick these people...how did they know...they must have been stalking people for hours...you don't just decide on it and go...or do you...is it like your sitting in car one moment then like a wild animal just attack...Not really...these dirt bags had moment after moment to get out their situation...Sitting their discussing what to do and how to do it "let's follow that one" "no, how bout that women there"
I can't help to think of myself in the same situation...I think I'm a fairly tough guy...but against a gun or the threat of "if you move I'll shoot the kid" The father had no choices that day..none of the family did...they didn't want this nor did they ever dream of this...this is like "in cold blood" or "Princes of Tides" how can this happen...where are we living.. people will always be on the side of the guy condemned, it's our nature...
People in this case have a horrible job...everyone from the janitors to the judge...can you imagine listening to the evidence and testimony. Watching the Father, a man stronger than many tough guys I know, reliving every word he hears...having to look at the man who is the cause of his pain...it's his right...his animalistic right to inflict suffering by bashing his skull and ripping out his heart....but he sits there day after day strong poised making sure that his family gets justice...only having to do it again when second scumbag goes on trial..
You might want to take a moment to listen to the 911 tapes of this case and look at the bank video ...after listening to them I wanted to hurt someone...my two little parakeets listening to me spew hatered over the 911 operators lack of urgency...
We hear the bank manager call 911 calmly and professionally describes a crime in process...not a hoax type of crime, like a bomb in bank or armed robbery..something no one has ever heard or said before...the surveillance system from the bank shows the women was in the bank over 5 minutes...pleading her case to the bank employees...what were they to do...if they stepped in to help maybe the women would be killed or her family....should they have stalled longer...how many times do we go to the bank for something simple and it takes 30 minutes...maybe the women thought by getting her the money as quick as possible was the right thing to do...
All of these people were being asked to make life and death decisions....these two spineless thugs wielded more power than our president....as one of them waiting in a car outside the bank the other is in the house...Then we find that the police themselves didn't respond as quickly as they should of. This information is still coming in but testimony suggests that the cops could have done something to have a different outcome...
These animals did things to the children, physical things that should be unthinkable, mental things that make us feel their pain...knowing what these poor beautifully innocent young women went through the last hours of their short lives...writing about this, reading this, is painful...nothing compared to 11 year old Michaela was going through...a hour earlier she was probably on facebook talking about music and maybe a "special friend" she likes who "likes" her too...or the 17 year old Hayley, maybe also on Facebook talking about school, boys, life...thoughts of college and moving away..the excitement of being 18 and being able to vote....
The jury has this case...public opinion is in already...I'm not even sure what to hope for...This Guy has to be guilty..so is the other one...should the state execute them if found guilty?...should they be locked up for life? Forgiven?...After the second trial and sometime goes by, I hope Dr. Petit the father, can find some peace in his life...
