baseball
I don't know what it is...every time I see a ball in the street I think of my childhood..how cool it was to find a ball...maybe it was behind a tire or caught in the sewer...some poor kid sad cause he lost his favorite handball punch ball or the last baseball...how many times did we play and only have one ball...it would be a grt game on a hot steamy day in august playing stick ball in the school yard of Junior High School 125 in woodside, NYC...then it would happen as suddenly as it started this experience of life someone hits our only ball across the street onto the roof of missing balls...theres probably 100 balls up there all hit in glorious fashion as a homer most of the time quietly ending the day...I see a ball at 44 i immediately go to pick it up I tell my 14yr old " look a baseball" he says "ok?" I go to pick it up like Pavlov's dog...I take the ball obviously half eaten by a dog and give it a throw across the empty field..I have a strong throwing arm..a gun if you would...I was able to throw guys out from the outfield..there's nothing like it..I throw this beaten up doggy toy with everything I got.high and strong flying in the air.. .I clear two fields and it goes way into the bushes...I feel satisfied it went that far..unfortunately I think I threw my back out a bit and my tennis elbow is killing me...ah life

Death of a City
To the family and friends of Amanda Cummings...a Staten Island teenager who commitment suicide after being bullied for years...this is truly awful news for everyone…I'm a father of 13 and 15 yr old boys...15yr old played against New Drop High School in football earlier this year...I’ve told them to never go with the bully…I’m a standup comic, so I told them if a guy is being funny that’s one thing but if their being hurtful then don’t hang with those people…the loss of this beautiful young girl is killing me right now..I want all of the ones who bullied Amanda to be revealed....I want their parents held responsible for their kids actions...the school has to be held accountable as well...we all know who the bullies are...I know them...You know them...their sitting right next to you in school…their behind you in the next office...they've bullied your friends in front of you and you laughed nervously not realizing the pain their causing....the kids who are physically or mentally bullying people are weak individuals who have been abused by a parent and its not completely their fault...a parent knows when their child is a bully especially if they themselves were a bully...
Why are we allowing this to happen? We're stronger than the bully...we out number the bully....I ask all of you to go to your schools officials and demand that all bullying be addressed and stopped TODAY...don't go to school until its resolved...stand up for your friends who are being bullied..this is how you define your young lives...it stops here and now...Amanda should represent the last time we as a society stand for bullying of any kind.....and to the bully and parents of bully’s, stop the abuse now...your time has come and its time to amend…we refuse to lose another child to death or despair…

Last night I went to a service for a friend Comic Patrice O'Neal
it was a wonderful ceremony...one filled with love, respect and laughter...the church was filled with his family, friends and fans...the comics that came were from every level.. from the top stars in our business to comics just starting off..all there to pay homage to their comic hero.. the tributes were given by his close comic buddies..all of them relaying touching and hilirious stories of the good times..special moments shared to remind us of the gift that was lost..at times emotions got the best of the crowd..when his step daughter told stories of how Mr. P made her feel special..smart...and silly...it brought down the house..she seemed so sure of herself for a young women... a confidence she credits learning from Patrice..she said Mr. P made me feel powerful, like I could do anything...Patrice would have loved last night.. people simply there to give the Big Man some props..Patrice has left us with a piece of work that has changed comedy and will last forever..thank you for your honesty and friendship..
